Where is Tal Al Malouhi? The Syrian blogger who has been detained since 2009, was missed and held incommunicado after the approval of the Criminal Court in Damascus on 24 October 2013 on the request for an exemption from a quarter of her original sentence which is five years in prison as ruled by the Supreme State Security Court on February 14, 2011 on charge of “disclosing information to a foreign country that must remain a secret for national safety “, and to be released immediately in case her detention is not required in any other case.
However, Tal Al Malouhi is taken from Damascus Central Prison – Adra- to the National Security Bureau whereas juristic sources reported on October 26, 2013 that ( Tal was transferred to the Office of National Security to be released from there). Note that so far there were no news that confirm her release.
Tal Al Malouhi was arrested at the age of eighteen )Born in 11-April 1991) by the Department of State Security after being summoned for questioning on the background of her activity in blogging and websites. Tal Al Malouhi spent eleven months of enforced arrest, during that she was exposed to torture and ill-treatment, with no announce for her location or fate, without allowance for her family, lawyers or other destination to visit before being passed to the women’s prison ( Doma previously ) where she was put in solitary confinement as reported by several sources. before she presented to the Supreme State Security Court on November 10, 2010 .
There were wide Solidarity campaigns for Tal Al Malouhi issue, who was the smallest blogger arrested in Syria, And the internet users all over the world have organized a mobilization to demand her release http://freetal
Also, many International, Arabic and Syrian juristic and human organizations condem solitary ned her arrest and the ill-treatment she has suffered, and even her trail which the defense lawyer for Tal Khalil Matouk mentioned that ( Tal Al Malouhi issue was not considered by a competent, fair and publicly court which has the international standards for fair trials, and we emphasize the need to retrial her, especially as the decision pronounced by the Supreme State Security Court has not been approved by the competent authority, the customary vice-governor) .
Note that Mr. Khalil Matouk himself is in enforced hiding since 02/10/2012.
the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of expression is very worried and concerned about the fate of the Syrian blogger Tal Al Malouhi, and deeply disapproves of the practices of the Syrian government which violated all laws and all legal and international agreements. Hiding Tal Al Malouhi in this way raises the biggest fears about her life and her physical, psychological and neurological safety, and it is a flagrant violation of constitutional human rights, especially that the court which has ruled Tal five years in prison- and it is a special court- was dissolved and stopped working by Legislative Decree No. 53 dated April 21, 2011, a move that the Syrian government presented as reforms to restore the confidence of citizen in government after the revolutionary movement that erupted in March 2011, and hiding her in this case is a breach by the Syrian government to the decisions of the judiciary in Syria. That what the center looks very worried about it, because it confirms the continual and aggravated domination of security institution in Syria on all aspects of the state and its institutions and legislative as executive power.
The Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression demands the Syrian authorities to disclose immediately the fate of Tal Al Malouhi and release her unconditionally , And load these authorities with full responsibility for her safety and life insurance, and calls on all juristic organizations that concerned in defense of human rights and prisoners of conscience to work and pressure the Syrian government to stop its disgraceful violations of human rights, and all practices that violate all constitutional and legal rights of the Syrian citizen .
